Justice

Jurisprudence is practised since long in the Hindu society.

The system of administration of justice is traced to the God's own. There are so many other incidents to quote.

Brahma, the creator God, among the trinity of Gods, was put behind the bars by Muruga, son of Shiva, for not knowing the meaning of AUM, the so called Pranava mantra which literally means 'Root of all sacred sounds or messages .'

The same Brahma was cursed by God Shiva as "Not to be worshiped by anyone" for bluffing during the "Who is Superior"duel between God Vishnu and him.

Krishna, who made the eternal discourse( Bhagvad Gita) to Arjuna during the Kurukshetra battle (of Mahabharatha fame), was cursed by Gandhari, wife of king Dhrisishtra and mother of the Kauravas  to die without any kith or kin to support.

Similarly, human beings stand to suffer the ups and downs of life depending on the past actions in this birth and previous births. Hinduism produced many manuscripts and treatises on the administration of justice. Two such works are quoted here under.

-Arthasasthra (book that elucidates the aspects of practical life and political government) written by Chanakya of Gupta Dynasty

-Manusmriti (Manu's law book) is popular as it provides the fundamentals for the righteous dispensation of justicefollowed in ancient India.
